Pharmacy Technician Trainee

Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will be an essential part of a collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and building strong relationships with customers. Your focus will be on ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while supporting team operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and acknowledge them with compassion at all entry points.
• Assist in processing prescriptions, managing phone orders, and directing patients to products, referring complex questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to meet company and regulatory standards.
• Support team members to ensure smooth department operations.
• Utilize pharmacy computer systems to perform tasks such as profile searches, inventory checks, and invoice entry.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives using relevant service and business metrics.
• Complete required training and exams, adhering to all policies, laws, and regulations, including HIPAA and pseudoephedrine sales.
• Finalize sales at the register, accurately transcribe prescription data, and generate labels.
• Manage inventory through ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications and supplies.
• Respond promptly and courteously to phone inquiries, resolving customer questions and concerns.
• File prescriptions daily to maintain organized records.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to obtain pharmacy technician registration with the state board.
• 0 to 6 months of experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
