Pharmacy Technician Team Lead

Under the supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), this position supervises pharmacy technician staff, monitors attendance, efficiency, and thoroughness, and performs daily pharmacy distribution procedures under direct pharmacist supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensures completeness and thoroughness of monthly floor inspections, emptying return bins, returning medications to Talyst, prepacking, and stocking of all trays.
• Participates in the interview process for prospective employees.
• Collaborates with the Purchasing Specialist to remove recalled medications from inventory.
• Fills in for other technicians during sickness, vacations, or other absences as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT). Failure to maintain certification will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Advanced certification: SC Board of Pharmacy State Certification or other area-specific advanced certification from an approved provider (e.g., ASHP, PTCB).
• 3 years of experience preferred.
