About the role

Join our Outpatient Pharmacy Team at MetroHealth System, a mission-driven organization delivering high-quality patient-centered care in Northeast Ohio for nearly two centuries. This role involves working in a state-of-the-art facility with a focus on addressing healthcare disparities and providing cutting-edge specialty care.

Schedule

Bi-weekly hours: 80. Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Epic electronic medical record system and Microsoft programs.
  • Apply pharmacy skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide patient and customer service.
  • Manage inventory and cash handling.
  • Engage in strategic thinking and personnel coordination.

Pharmacy Technicians will collaborate with:

  • Pharmacy Manager
  • Pharmacists
  • Certified Pharmacy Technicians
  • Other Pharmacy Technicians

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions.
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Trainee with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy (registration must be maintained throughout employment).
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) from the National Healthcare Association.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy.
