About the Role

The system aims to excel in disease prevention as well as treatment. Founded in 1837, MetroHealth operates four hospitals, four emergency departments, and over 20 health centers in Cuyahoga County.

Under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, this role performs a variety of duties in delivering pharmaceutical care to patients in ambulatory pharmacies. Responsibilities include meeting departmental standards for prescription turnaround times and medication dispensing accuracy while upholding MetroHealth’s mission, vision, values, and customer service standards.

Schedule

Full-time, 80 hours biweekly. Shift: Monday through Friday, 10:45 AM – 7:15 PM, with rotating weekends (Saturday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver pharmaceutical care to patients in ambulatory pharmacies.
  • Meet departmental standards for prescription turnaround times and medication dispensing accuracy.
  • Uphold MetroHealth’s mission, vision, values, and customer service standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions (per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42).
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacy Trainee with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy; must maintain registration throughout employment.
  • Willing and able to travel to external satellite locations, including access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) from the National Healthcareer Association.
  • 6 months of experience in a retail pharmacy or hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy.
