Pharmacy Technician I - BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy
About the role
The role is a hybrid position requiring associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility for productivity and work-life balance. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance from the LA-HARVEY location unless accommodation is granted.
Responsibilities
- Verifies member information and accurately enters prescription data to support pharmacists.
- Educates members on pharmacy guidelines related to medications, coverage, and available assistance programs.
- Reviews and processes prescription requests from providers' offices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines; communicates updates to appropriate parties.
- Aids in resolving member and provider inquiries related to pharmacy services and medication access.
- Responds to questions from physicians, internal teams, and members regarding formulary details and prescription benefits.
- Generates reports related to rebates, provider utilization, Beers Criteria, Reliance members, and other ad hoc requests.
- Maintains accurate records of prescription activity, rebates, and routine reporting metrics.
Requirements
- H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Current State Pharmacy Tech. Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required. For URAC accredited areas, professional competencies apply.
Qualifications
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.

- Data entry experience.
- Specialty pharmacy experience.
- CPhT.
