Pharmacy Technician I - BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy

Hybrid: This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. Responsibilities

• Verifies member information and accurately enters prescription data to support pharmacists.
• Educates members on pharmacy guidelines related to medications, coverage, and available assistance programs.
• Reviews and processes prescription requests from providers’ offices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines; communicates updates to appropriate parties.
• Assists in resolving member and provider inquiries related to pharmacy services and medication access.
• Responds to questions from physicians, internal teams, and members regarding formulary details and prescription benefits.
• Generates reports related to rebates, provider utilization, Beers Criteria, Reliance members, and other ad hoc requests.
• Maintains accurate records of prescription activity, rebates, and routine reporting metrics.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
• Current State Pharmacy Technician Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required.
• For URAC accredited areas, strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills are expected.

Preferred Skills

• Data entry experience.
• Specialty pharmacy experience.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm CST
