About the role
Saliba’s Extended Care Pharmacy, a member of the Guardian family of pharmacies, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Answering phone calls from facilities in a timely manner while being professional and courteous
- Create telephone orders for refills, new orders, and/or backups and triage into the appropriate queues for Order Entry staff to complete
- Refill orders in pharmacy computer system if facility calls and request (if not complicated)
- Follow up with customers as needed (if you told a customer you would return their phone call, call them back in a timely manner)
- Answering facility questions or referring them to the proper resource for answers
- Taking credit card information over the phone for payments
- Working with Medical Records to update on resident information, or anything else that is changed
- Taking telephone orders for medical records and sending to appropriate queues for medical records
- Taking orders from Doctor’s offices and triaging to appropriate queues
- Checking assigned facility faxes daily; any issues, contact Order Entry
- Linking delivery sheets into Docutrack
- Checking original prescriptions sent in tote or by mail, scanning into Docutrack and linking
- If they haven’t been completed, leave note for OE to address
- Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
Requirements
- Active Pharmacy Technician license required
- Call center or phone-based customer service experience preferred

Education and/or Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB)
Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience)
- Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
- Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
- Great attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
- Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
