About the role

Saliba’s Extended Care Pharmacy, a member of the Guardian family of pharmacies, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phone calls from facilities in a timely manner while being professional and courteous
  • Create telephone orders for refills, new orders, and/or backups and triage into the appropriate queues for Order Entry staff to complete
  • Refill orders in pharmacy computer system if facility calls and request (if not complicated)
  • Follow up with customers as needed (if you told a customer you would return their phone call, call them back in a timely manner)
  • Answering facility questions or referring them to the proper resource for answers
  • Taking credit card information over the phone for payments
  • Working with Medical Records to update on resident information, or anything else that is changed
  • Taking telephone orders for medical records and sending to appropriate queues for medical records
  • Taking orders from Doctor’s offices and triaging to appropriate queues
  • Checking assigned facility faxes daily; any issues, contact Order Entry
  • Linking delivery sheets into Docutrack
  • Checking original prescriptions sent in tote or by mail, scanning into Docutrack and linking
  • If they haven’t been completed, leave note for OE to address
  • Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements

  • Active Pharmacy Technician license required
  • Call center or phone-based customer service experience preferred

Education and/or Certifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Pharmacy Technician license/certification/registration (per state requirements); National Certification preferred (PTCB)

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related experience (advanced degree may substitute for experience)
  • Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
  • Ability to solve problems with minimal direction
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment working on multiple tasks simultaneously, while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
