Description

The pharmacy technician prepares and distributes medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. These duties include but are not limited to:

• Filling and labeling medications
• Refilling Pyxis
• Delivering medications to patient care areas
• Preparing IV admixture solutions
• Answering the telephone and directing the call to the appropriate staff
• Maintaining medication stock levels and maintaining proper storage of medications to ensure safe and cost effective pharmaceutical services
• Proficient in basic computer skills and appropriately uses information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned task

Qualifications

Degrees: High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician
• NHA Pharmacy Technician Certification
• PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician

Additional Qualifications:

• 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience (or equivalent setting)
• Sterile products preparation experience or medication history experience or specialty area experience (i.e. Pediatrics)
• PTCB or ICPT Certification required

Minimum Required Experience: 2 Years

Pay

Estimated pay range for this position is $20.02 - $26.03 / hour depending on experience.
