Pharmacy Tech Trainee
About the Role
As our Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will embark on an essential learning journey, gaining hands-on experience and foundational knowledge necessary to support our pharmacy operations and contribute to patient care. You will assist licensed pharmacists and certified technicians with various tasks, including receiving and stocking medications, preparing prescriptions under direct supervision, managing inventory, and handling administrative duties.
You will learn pharmacy laws and regulations, master dispensing procedures, provide excellent customer service, and work towards obtaining your pharmacy technician certification. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a genuine desire to learn, and a commitment to accuracy and patient safety are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a pharmacist, a pharmacy technician trainee may assist with the following:
- Record on the original prescription order the prescription serial number and date dispensed.
- Initiate or accept verbal or electronic refill authorization from a medical practitioner or their agent, and record relevant details on the prescription order or approved alternative.
- Record information in the refill record or patient profile.
- Type and affix a label for a prescription medication or enter prescription information into a computer, with pharmacist verification of accuracy before dispensing.
- Reconstitute a prescription medication, with pharmacist verification of ingredients, procedure, and final product.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or High School GED.
- Pharmacy Technician Trainee AZ license.

$18.00 - $21.71 per hour.
