Responsibilities
Leads, manages and supports the department's clinical/cognitive pharmaceutical care services by:
- Implementing programs to ensure safe and cost effective use of drugs
- Providing clinical consultative services and drug information to healthcare providers and students
- Assessing/reviewing the clinical activities of the clinical staff pharmacists and students
- Providing oversight to the "formulary management" functions which are under the aegis of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee
- Collecting and assessing documentation of clinical service effectiveness to assist in developing new or expanded clinical service programs
Requirements
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
Licensures/Certifications: Pharmacist licensure in SC or eligibility for licensure via examination or reciprocity
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Qualifications
Preference given to candidates who have completed a pharmacy practice residency or comparable experience (usually 3-5 years beyond the terminal degree).
