About the role

Smith's Food and Drug, now part of The Kroger Company, seeks a Pharmacy Senior Certified Technician to join its team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position will provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a safe, clean, and inclusive environment, and adhering to company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient intervention by offering health and wellness services and experiences relevant to the patient, as allowed by and consistent with state and federal laws.
  • Train and mentor new hire technicians, supporting their day-to-day training and the technician training program.
  • Ensure adherence to department standards by leading by example and delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Support store-wide meetings and huddles, assisting in scheduling and station rotation for hourly staff.
  • Prepare for and manage offsite Business to Business clinics, such as biometric screenings and vaccinations.
  • Oversee inventory management, including reconciling orders, returns, and preparing physical inventory.
  • Act as the pharmacy safety subject matter expert, identifying opportunities for improvement and coaching to correct issues.
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation and safety regulations, reporting any unsafe conditions to store management.
  • Administer immunizations where applicable by state law, as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of Pharmacy Certified Technician experience within the Kroger enterprise
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Professional, dependable, positive attitude, and ability to gain support from others to lead a high-performing pharmacy team
  • Self-motivated, organized, prioritized, and deadline-oriented
  • Proven attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills with leaders and peers
  • Completion of national and/or state registration, certification, or license, depending on state requirements
