Pharmacy Intern PRN

About the role

The Pharmacy Intern is a student who works in a pharmacy to gain hands-on experience. These individuals work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists and hospital pharmacy managers to ensure that they are performing their job duties correctly.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a pharmacist, fills medication orders, prepares routine compounds and solutions (sterile and non-sterile), prepackages medications, stocks and maintains levels of supplies in assigned work area
• Prepares and files documents and other records
• Operates computer and answers telephone/window as needed
• Performs duties of a pharmacist in accordance with rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy
• Pharmacy intern registration with the State Board of Pharmacy is required within 3 months of hire. (PHARM-Intern) Pharmacist - Intern, or (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License
• Neatness and Accuracy required
• Six months of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred
