Pharmacy Coordinator
About the role
The Pharmacy Coordinator will be responsible for the collection of clinical supporting documents needed to care for our patients, including, but not limited to: laboratory results, signed written orders, assignment of benefits, and ongoing clinical documentation.
This role answers incoming phone calls and directs calls to the appropriate person. It also greets all visitors, directs them to the appropriate person or location, and assists with miscellaneous clerical duties.
Responsibilities
- Communicates effectively across pharmacy and/or corporate teams and with patients, and successfully resolves issues
- Tracks all pharmacy documentation and enters into EMR system as necessary
- Answers incoming calls
- Takes messages and transfers callers to the designated party when applicable
- Greets guests
- Handles incoming mail
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- An associates or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- One or more years of pharmacy or other healthcare-related experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work with all levels of management and staff
- Vast knowledge of pharmacy terminology and process
- Ability to multitask in a demanding environment
- Excellent organizational skills and mindfulness

Working Conditions
Occasional weekend, evening or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage
Physical Requirements: Occasional sitting, typing on a keyboard with fingers, standing, and walking. The physical requirements are the ability to push/pull and lift/carry 21-30 lbs.
