Pharmacist-Retail Pharmacy

About the role

Retail Pharmacist position in Cedar Falls, Iowa. PRN (as needed) with rotating shifts within pharmacy hours.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• Weekends: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (rotating shifts)

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs, incorporating age and disease-specific characteristics into drug therapy and patient education.
• Adjust care according to patient response and provide clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events.
• Work directly with physicians, other health professionals, and patients to provide all aspects of patient care, including clinical and distributive tasks.
• Help patients and healthcare professionals achieve clinical outcomes and monitor progress toward common goals.
• Supervise other pharmacy staff in the absence of formal departmental leadership.
• Process, fill, verify, and dispense medications with a strong focus on accuracy and safety.
• Provide clear, compassionate counseling to patients on medication use and expectations.
• Offer prescription clarification and recommendations to patients and providers.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
• Support medication therapy management (MTM) services and related clinical initiatives.
• Administer immunizations in accordance with protocols.
• Contribute to efficient day-to-day pharmacy operations and overall patient experience.
• Perform additional duties and support projects as assigned by the Pharmacy Leadership Team.

Requirements

• RPh or PharmD degree from a college of pharmacy.
• Valid license to practice pharmacy within the state of Iowa.
• Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
