Pharmacist Per Diem

The Pharmacist at NeighborHealth, formerly East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, plays a crucial role in dispensing prescription medication and providing patient education. This position requires a BS in Pharmacy degree with a PharmD preferred, and a valid Massachusetts pharmacy license.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Works with the pharmacy manager to achieve departmental goals
• Builds collaborative relationships with patients and other pharmacists, technicians, and interns
• Trains and develops other pharmacists, technicians, and interns
• Safely and accurately dispenses medications
• Verifies medications accurately
• Counsels patients on medication use, side effects, and therapeutic plans
• Complies with REMS and monitors controlled substance use through MassPAT
• Performs Medication Therapy Management
• Aids providers with pre-authorization and Cover My Meds

Other Duties & Responsibilities

• Reads and complies with Standards of Conduct and JCAHO policies
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and employee information
• Follows safety policies and practices
• Communicates effectively and makes appropriate decisions
• Works under pressure and meets deadlines
• Learns and uses contemporary outpatient pharmacy systems

• Knowledge of contemporary outpatient pharmacy systems
• General clinical knowledge and expertise in traditional therapeutics
• Excellent comprehension of written policies and procedures

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Computer literacy
• English proficiency

Pay & Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $127,920, with potential for up to $205,920 based on experience.
