Pharmacist Per Diem

Position Summary

Provides pharmaceutical service and care to all patient populations—including neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatrics—based on individual variables and disease state. Care is delivered through the most recent concepts of drug utilization and control, encompassing knowledge, understanding, judgment, procedures, skills, controls, and ethics to ensure optimal safety in medication distribution and use. All pharmacists must understand and maintain patient‑specific aspects of care, dosing based on age, weight, and renal function, and preparing individual inpatient and outpatient prescription orders and refills.

Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure

• Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy with a five‑year Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or a six‑year entry‑level Pharm.D. degree.
• Completion of a pharmacy internship and licensure as a Registered Pharmacist by passing the New York State Board of Pharmacy examination or through reciprocal licensure.
• Participation in orientation and continuing education; ongoing updates and maintenance of knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Employment Type

Part‑time, rotating shift schedule.

Pay

Hourly rate range: $55.00 – $77.30 (based on experience, education, and skills). Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid at the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The range may vary by location.
