About the role
The job integrates into the clinical, teaching, research, and distribution systems of UC San Diego Health and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This includes activities such as profile review, TPN order writing, pharmacokinetics, renal drug dosing, medication reconciliation, chemotherapy order review entry and validation in the Beacon Chemotherapy Electronic Medical Record, precepting pharmacy students from the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, precepting UC San Diego Health PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Residents, and other activities that optimize drug therapy outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy.
- Precepting pharmacy residents and students as assigned.
- Participation in Medical Center and Departmental committees to promote institution-wide medication use policy.
Requirements
- Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience in acute care pharmacy.
- Registered Pharmacist (RPH) issued by the state of California.
- Three (3) years of inpatient pharmacist experience.
Qualifications
Less than four (4) years of experience qualifies as Staff Pharmacy I; four (4) or more years of experience qualifies as Staff Pharmacy II.
Skills
Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call, and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.

Pay
Annual Full Pay Range: $192,305 - $196,168 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).
Schedule
Variable, 8-Hour Shifts.
