About the role
The job integrates into the clinical, teaching, research, and distribution systems of UC San Diego Health and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Activities include profile review, TPN order writing, pharmacokinetics, renal drug dosing, medication reconciliation, chemotherapy order review entry and validation in the Beacon Chemotherapy Electronic Medical Record, precepting pharmacy students from the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, precepting UC San Diego Health PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Residents, and other activities that optimize drug therapy outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients, according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy.
- Serve as preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned.
- Participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy.
Requirements
- Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience (acute care pharmacy experience in an hospital setting).
- Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH).
- Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience: 3 years of inpatient pharmacist experience.
Qualifications
- Less than four (4) years experience qualifies as Staff Pharmacy I; Four (4) + years of experience qualifies as Staff Pharmacy II.

Annual Full Pay Range: $192,305 - $196,168 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hiring Pay Scale: $92.10 - $114.45 / Hour
