Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist, Primary Care R&I - Tifton, GA
About the role
AstraZeneca’s US BioPharma Respiratory and Immunology (R&I) Team focuses on respiratory diseases—including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)—with a pipeline of differentiated potential medicines using novel combinations, biologics, and devices. The team also advances assets in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.
As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist on the R&I Primary Care Team, you will channel AstraZeneca’s scientific capabilities to positively impact patients’ lives in the following towns: Tifton, Valdosta, Quitman, Douglas, Cordele, Fitzgerald, Ocilla, Ashburn, Perry, Bonaire, and Eastman.
Responsibilities
- Develop superior product and disease-state knowledge and effectively educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing.
- Function independently with sales proficiency to drive performance and meet or exceed sales forecasts and assigned budgets for your therapeutic area and territory.
- Complete all training requirements, including product examinations.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed-care information for your assigned sales territory.
- Partner with your District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop a local strategy and business plan that generates measurable sales growth in your territory.
- Capitalize on formulary approvals and other opportunities by implementing Strategic Targeting Plans using promotional, personnel, and analytical tools tailored to local customer needs.
- Provide special education to healthcare providers through programs that align with AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with other Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists to coordinate selling efforts around common objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated sales, B2B, or commercial experience.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the medical, healthcare, or pharmacy industry, preferably with clinical skills in respiratory therapeutic areas.
- Prior sales experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and sound judgment/decision-making ability.
- Results-oriented with proven time-management skills.
- Ability to learn, analyze, understand, and convey complex information.
