PH Registered Nurse - Candler/Bulloch
About the role
The Candler and Bulloch County Health Department is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a full-time, salaried Public Health Registered Nurse position based in Statesboro, GA or Metter, GA. This role will work between the Candler and Bulloch County Health Departments, reporting to the Candler Health Department every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and to the Bulloch Health Department on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols under general supervision.
- Delivers community health services in programs such as Women’s Health, Child Health, and Adult Health to the general public.
- Assesses client conditions, develops plans of care, provides treatments, educates clients, and refers clients to agencies that can assist in meeting social and/or health needs.
- Records pertinent observations and responses to treatment.
- Adheres to protocols for vaccine administration and specimen collection, including patient identification, registration, preparation, labeling, and transport of specimens to the lab.
- Ensures all safety precautions, HIPAA requirements, and data entry are accurate and acknowledged.
- Administers vaccinations during mass vaccination clinics or declared emergencies.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a Public Health Nurse (PHN) course within one (1) year of hire.
- Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license.
- CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- One year of experience as a registered professional nurse.
- Public health experience.
- Bilingual.

Educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.
