PERSONNEL SUPERVISOR II

Under the supervision of the Supervisor I/Institutional Personnel Officer (IPO), this position oversees the entire transaction program, custody timekeepers, and clerical support. Responsibilities include auditing subordinate staff’s technical transactions to ensure compliance with control agencies, reviewing and disseminating rules and regulation changes related to personnel transactions and timekeeping, and supporting staff and Senior Personnel Specialist over Worker’s Compensation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire transaction program, custody timekeepers, and clerical support.
• Audit subordinate staff’s technical transactions to ensure compliance with control agencies.
• Review and disseminate updates on rules and regulations related to personnel transactions and timekeeping.
• Support staff and Senior Personnel Specialist in Worker’s Compensation matters.

Requirements

• Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
• If meeting qualifications through education, include unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
• Foreign education must be verified for U.S. equivalency through a credential evaluation service (e.g., NACES).
• New hires must undergo a background investigation, Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, with annual testing thereafter.
• Do not include confidential information (e.g., SSN, birthdate, student ID) on application documents.

Working Conditions

Position is located at North Kern State Prison, Delano, CA. Main communication for this role will be via email.

Pay

$6,264.00 - $7,843.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP2025) requires a 3% pay reduction in exchange for 5 hours of PLP2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries listed do not reflect this change.
