About the role

Equinox is a category of one, setting the global standard for luxury health, wellness, and hospitality. Our spaces are intentionally elevated, our standards uncompromising, and our expectations high. We attract people who take pride in excellence, care deeply about quality, and want to be part of something that feels different the moment you walk through the door. We are builders, operators, and innovators who believe great environments and meaningful human connection change lives. Diversity, belonging, and ownership aren’t slogans here, they’re how we work. At Equinox, colleagues don’t just support the business; they shape the future of wellness. Because for us, it’s not fitness. It’s life.

We create premium, immersive experiences where performance, hospitality, design, and human connection converge—and every detail matters. This is not a traditional fitness environment. It is a place where high standards, accountability, and pride in craft define the work. Fueled by an entrepreneurial mindset, we trust our people with real responsibility and real impact. Growth is earned through action, learning is hands‑on, and careers are built by those who want to operate at the highest level. At Equinox, we don’t just offer opportunities—we offer long‑term pathways for people who want to do meaningful work in an environment that expects more and delivers more.

One Membership. Limitless Potential. Every Equinox membership unlocks access to an unparalleled ecosystem of expertise, experiences, and services designed to maximize potential and support every aspect of high-performance living. The Performance Advisor helps prospective, new, and existing members realize the full value of that ecosystem through personalized consultation, expert guidance, and meaningful relationships that evolve alongside their individual needs, wants, and goals. Serving as a trusted expert, the Performance Advisor connects members with the experiences, services, and specialists best equipped to support their journey — whether introducing a member to Personal Training powered by EQX OS and Equifit, Pilates for precision and longevity, Group Fitness for community and motivation, or Spa and recovery services that support regeneration and performance — this role curates a personalized path that reflects each member’s goals and evolves over time.

Responsibilities

Member Onboarding & Consultation

  • Conduct personalized welcome consultations with new members to understand their goals, lifestyle, and experience with fitness and wellness.
  • Introduce members to the full spectrum of club offerings — Personal Training, Pilates, Group Fitness, Spa, and beyond — through an educational, consultative conversation.
  • Conduct high-quality Equifit Assessments that reflect Equinox standards and deliver a premium, personalized experience; leverage the session to understand member needs, provide insights from the assessment, and share ways club offerings can support their goals.
  • Maintain engagement in a supportive way without putting pressure on the member.
  • Be highly responsive to inbound consultation requests and ensure timely scheduling.

The Equinox Experience: Driving Member Value Across All Offerings

  • Ensure a seamless, confidence-building handoff of new clients to the best-matched coach based on training goals and programming needs, scheduling availability, coaching style and personality fit, and program specialization.
  • Partner with the Personal Training Manager to align on lead flow, scheduling, and strategy, and work to support conversion rates.
  • Introduce members to Pilates as a complement to training — building core strength, mobility, and body awareness that enhances every other modality.
  • Present Spa and recovery services as the rejuvenation pillar, helping members understand that recovery is not optional; it is part of the practice.
  • Connect members to Group Fitness, specialty classes, and community programming that align with their interests and schedule.
  • Serve as an informed resource on all in-club services — fitness programming, Pilates, Spa, Shop, and member perks — so every conversation adds value.
  • Lead every member interaction with curiosity and active listening, making all offerings relevant and available in response to where the member is on their personal journey.

Member Engagement & Follow-Up

  • Manage member pipelines through thoughtful, personalized engagement — including email outreach, follow-up consultations, member experience touchpoints, and fitness floor interactions.

  • Align member engagement strategies and referrals across departments to ensure members are connected with the right expertise at the right time.
  • Provide insights learned across multiple departments in service of elevating a superior member experience.
