Personal Support Specialist (PSS)
About the Role
Main Street West in Dover-Foxcroft is seeking a full-time Personal Support Specialist (PSS) to join their team, working Monday through Friday. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Resident Care: Perform daily check-ins and assessments to ensure residents' health, comfort, and peace of mind.
- Environment Care: Provide weekly light housekeeping and personalized laundry services for resident apartments.
- Community Upkeep: Maintain clean and inviting common areas for residents to enjoy.
- Outings & Transport: Drive the facility van for resident appointments, group errands, and community outings.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) as per the authorized plan of care.
- Provide hands-on assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
- Support with meal service, laundry, housekeeping, and other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Personal Support Specialist Certification preferred, but not required – training provided.
- Experience or strong desire to care for older adults and/or chronically ill individuals.
- Focus on high-level customer service.
- Ability to work independently with flexibility, good judgment, and strong verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to creating a safe environment and fostering positive customer relationships.
