About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to take a leading role in managing and advancing complex personal injury matters through litigation. This attorney will serve as a key member of our legal team, working closely with firm leadership, mentoring support staff, and driving cases toward successful resolution. The position offers the opportunity to independently manage a substantial litigation caseload while helping shape litigation strategy and contribute to the continued growth of the firm. The successful candidate will have meaningful client contact, significant responsibility, and the autonomy to guide cases from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage personal injury litigation matters from filing through settlement, trial, or other resolution.
  • Develop and execute litigation strategies designed to maximize client outcomes.
  • Draft, review, and argue pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions, including parties, witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.
  • Represent clients in mediations, settlement conferences, hearings, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and case value to develop effective resolution strategies.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on case strategy, litigation planning, and trial preparation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to paralegals, case managers, and support staff.
  • Maintain proactive client communication and ensure an exceptional client experience throughout the litigation process.
  • Effectively manage deadlines, case budgets, and litigation priorities.

Qualifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the NY State Bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of personal injury litigation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing litigation matters.
  • Strong deposition, motion practice, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Experience handling mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Trial experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and case management skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment.
