About the role
We are hiring for an administrator for a personal care facility located in Gettysburg, PA. We are looking for an experienced personal care home administrator/ marketer. This is a dual-function leadership role. You will be involved in the day-to-day operations while also driving occupancy through referral development and outreach.
Responsibilities
- Direct all day-to-day operations of the personal care home, ensuring continuous compliance with PA personal care home regulations, licensing standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Maintain the facility license in good standing; prepare for, host, and respond to annual and unannounced state inspections and complaint investigations.
- Develop, implement, and annually review facility policies and procedures, resident handbooks, and admission agreements. Ensure accurate and current resident records, including assessments, support/service plans, medication records, physician orders, and financial documentation.

- Recruit, hire, schedule, train, and supervise direct care and support staff; maintain required staffing coverage and awake-staff requirements on every shift.
- Track all staff clearances and training — Older Adult Protective Services Act criminal history checks, first aid/CPR, direct care staff competency testing, and the 12 hours of annual direct care training.
- Oversee admissions documentation: pre-admission screening, medical evaluation, resident assessment, support plan, and resident-home contract within required timeframes.
- Respond to inquiries, give tours, follow up consistently, and convert leads to move-ins.
- Manage the home's online presence and referral listings; host open houses and community events.
Qualifications
- Personal Care Home Administrator certification — completion of a DHS-approved 100-hour administrator training course and a passing score on the DHS competency-based exam. Per 2600.64, this must be completed prior to employment as Administrator.

- [For homes serving 8 or fewer residents only: a high school diploma or GED plus two years of direct care or administrative experience in human services.]
- 21 years of age or older.
- [2+] years of experience in a personal care home, assisted living residence, or comparable licensed setting.
- Supervisory experience with responsibility for hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
- Comfort with sales and referral-source outreach — this role owns occupancy, not just operations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community outreach in Adams County and surrounding areas.
