Personal Direct Support Professional - DSP

About the role

The role involves providing direct support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Support individuals in engaging in community activities and outings.
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment for the individuals.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other professionals involved in the care process.
• Document daily activities and progress in individualized care plans.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Pass a background check and criminal history review.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with individuals and families.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of disability-related issues and resources.
