Essential Functions
- Support the individual at their place of employment, providing skills development and coaching.
- Affirmatively engage individuals in community and social activities such as eating out, attending events, building friendships, volunteering, walking, and participating in sports or workouts.
- Provide transportation to work and community activities, ensuring the individual’s safety and comfort.
- Accurately track an individual's progress, report any changes affecting employment, and communicate concerns regarding the individual's well-being, health, or emotional state.
- Complete required documentation (daily notes, medication logs, incident reports, progress notes, etc.) accurately and on time, adhering to all regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a safe environment by following safety protocols and reporting unsafe conditions to the Program Manager.
- Act in accordance with legal responsibilities to ensure the individual's safety and welfare while maintaining confidentiality.
- Administer medication if the individual is unable to do so, based on agency nurse's determination and with medication training provided by the agency.
Education/Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 18 years of age is required.
- Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or as an aide or caregiver is preferred but not required.
- All MDS training must be completed within six months of hire and annually thereafter.
Working Conditions
- DSPs are considered Essential Employees and may be required to work flexible schedules in various settings.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Mileage reimbursement is available.
- Medication certification and Safety Care training may be required.
- The ability to lift 25+ lbs with assistance as needed is necessary.
Pay
$16.50 per hour - $750.00 Sign-on Bonus
