Direct Support Professional

About the role

Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH) empowers individuals and strengthens communities through its mission. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a crucial role in this mission by assisting people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) with daily living tasks and achieving their goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and the community they live in
• Aid with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning
• Support personal care activities including bathing and dressing
• Transport clients to appointments and run errands
• Plan and organize their schedule
• Document and report in the electronic health system of record

Requirements

• Entry-level, on-the-job training provided
• A high school diploma or GED
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols knowledge
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability
• Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn
