Personal Care Assistant (PCA) for Memory Care community

At St. Ives Hometown Living of Johns Creek, we are seeking individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors. Our Caregivers are the vital link ensuring residents receive excellent physical support while feeling respected and valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, dignified direct care and supervision, promoting resident choice, independence, and satisfaction.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) with respect, encouraging them to maintain independence and personal control.
• Adhere to protocols and guidelines to ensure the health and safety of residents, performing tasks like proper lifting techniques and universal precautions with precision.
• Encourage participation in enriching activities and programs, dedicating time for meaningful, one-on-one interactions that brighten a resident's day.
• Tune into residents' mood, food intake, and functional status, documenting any changes and communicating with urgency to the care team.
• Work as a team player, offering support to colleagues when needed, and maintaining a clean, healthy environment.
• Communicate positively and respectfully with residents, families, and staff, fostering a network of trust within our community.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age with a clean criminal background check.
• Hold or obtain current certification in emergency first aid and CPR.
• Complete a pre-employment physical examination and tuberculosis screening.
• Show the strength necessary to provide safe resident transfers and support.
• Achieve necessary training in areas such as emergency procedures, resident's rights, infection control, and dementia care, and obtain required annual continuing education hours.
• Read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence, and speak effectively to residents, families, and staff.
• Be willing to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
