About the role
The Permit Coordinator supports the permitting process for overhead and underground power line installations. Key responsibilities include acquiring permitting information, completing applications, and maintaining records.Responsibilities
- Acquire up-to-date permitting information from local jurisdictions and compile necessary details for permit packages.
- Complete permit applications, submit check requests, and track permit fees.
- Meet with local jurisdictions to understand and comply with permitting requirements, including design specifications, lead times, and special requirements.
- Ensure compliance with jurisdictional permit drawing requirements and communicate with the engineering team.
- Research and analyze county assessor records, survey maps, tract/parcel maps, appraisals, right of way maps, plats, and construction maps.
- Communicate with customers regarding project statuses and provide status updates.
- Prioritize permit submissions based on agency review timelines and customer schedules.
- Maintain organized records of all documents and tasks.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of relevant permit experience required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- AEC industry experience advantageous but not required.
- Deltek Vantage Point or Vision experience advantageous but not required.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work collaboratively and interact effectively with others.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to adapt to different personalities and communication styles.
- Ability to ask clarifying questions and probe for detailed information.
Qualifications
