Job Summary
As our Periop Procedural Educator RN, you will design, organize, implement, and evaluate evidence-based educational programs, orientations, and continuing education. Every day you will facilitate the professional growth, skill development, and competency of staff, ensuring these programs primarily support the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring quality, safety, and service in patient and family-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the professional growth, skill development, and competency of staff through educational programs.
- Design and document education plans in partnership with leadership team to meet strategic and operational initiatives of the organization.
- Implement educational in-services, classes, courses, and programs based on identified education needs using various instructional methods including technology and simulation.
- Submit documentation supporting education, including attendance rosters, course evaluation documents, and competency validation tools.
- Perform initial and ongoing educational needs assessment.
- Create and document education plans in partnership with leadership team to meet strategic and operational initiatives of the organization.
- Collaborate with department leaders in identifying and developing initial and ongoing competencies.
- Utilize adult education theories and principles to foster the educational development of participants.
- Author curriculum and implement educational in-services, classes, courses, and programs based upon identified education needs and utilizing traditional, non-traditional, and innovative methods of instruction including the use of technology and simulation.
Required Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree of Nursing
- Five (5) years clinical practice in area of specialty
- Registered Nurse: AZ
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- Three years (3) Surgical Services RN experience
Preferred Job Requirements
- Master's degree of Nursing
- Specialty certification
- Two (2) years teaching
