Educator RN Perioperative

Job Summary

This position serves as a consultant/resource professional by providing staff development expertise as an educator, facilitator, change agent, leader, and researcher. The role ensures educational initiatives align with Perioperative department's operational goals and facility leadership priorities.

Responsibilities

• Affirms educational needs through formal and informal methods, collaborating with Perioperative Management teams and staff.
• Evaluates educational projects and initiatives for desired outcomes, sharing findings and proposing revisions to Perioperative facility leadership teams.
• Revises future work goals, methods, and processes to support evidence-based practice and quality care in collaboration with market leaders.
• Conducts annual educational needs assessment, presents findings and proposed educational plans to the Perioperative leadership team for feedback and approval.
• Evaluates educational projects based on system needs and agreed-upon outcome criteria, regularly communicating progress and outcomes to the Perioperative leadership team and reporting broader outcomes to the Market Chief Nurses.
• Collaborates with market leaders of Perioperative Services to ensure 100% implementation of all perioperative safety initiatives and other identified patient safety projects.
• Reports timely status on perioperative safety initiatives to the Chief nurses, Directors of Emergency Services, Patient Safety, and Clinical Risk Management leadership.
• Reviews data and processes to evaluate compliance with perioperative safety initiatives, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
• Supports the market in the roll-out of perioperative safety projects and goals, reporting results and providing necessary training.
• Develops, implements, and facilitates learning opportunities and drills for the perioperative departments, including topics such as Mock Codes, disaster preparedness, and critical incident simulations.

Requirements

• Current and Active CA Registered Nurse
• 3-5 years of clinical experience
• Bachelor's of Nursing
• AHA Basic Life Support
• AHA Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS-I)
