Perinatal Diabetes Educator

About the role

The Perinatal Diabetic Educator is a professional role responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering diabetes counseling and education to pregnant diabetic patients.

Responsibilities

• Develop care plans for diabetic patients during pregnancy
• Promote self-management skills for diabetes care
• Collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians
• Engage in extensive contact with patients, families, physicians, and community agencies

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Current RN license in Washington or Multistate endorsement
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (or certification within 2 years of hire)
• BLS certification
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible related experience
