Per Diem Residential Counselor (Mental Health Services)
Responsibilities
- Aid in the development, implementation, and documentation of individual treatment support plans.
- Handle a variety of daily tasks with persons served, including (re)habilitative interventions, behavioral interventions, and monitoring.
- Provide role modeling and support to persons served.
- Aid persons served in becoming fully integrated into their communities.
- Assess persons served's physical and emotional status and report changes to supervisor.
- Maintain program site safety and cleanliness.
- Participate in daily living and cleaning tasks, including cooking, meal planning, grocery shopping, general housekeeping, lawn mowing, snow shoveling, and garbage removal.
- Comply with all corporate and divisional policies and procedures, including safe work practices, workers’ compensation, universal precautions, and exposure control.
- Administer, document, and dispose of medication for persons served according to MAP/MAC requirements, funding source regulations, and Company policy.
- Complete various paperwork and logs including communication logs, community membership logs, chore schedules, timesheets, and application forms.
- Perform crisis intervention as needed.
- Provide current contact information to Relief Pool Coordinator or Human Resources staff.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 direct care shifts per month.
- One to three months experience in a human services setting, or equivalent education.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driver’s screening background check.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways.
- Ability to assist clients with tasks of daily living.
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives.
- First Aid certification within two weeks of hire.
- CPR certification within two weeks of hire.
- MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM (MAP) certification within 150 days of hire.
Bonus Program
This program offers bonuses to staff working at specified programs in towns like Andover, Groveland, Haverhill, Lawrence, and Methuen. Bonuses range from $100 for working 24 direct care shift hours to $150 for working 32 direct care shift hours. The program does not apply to training hours and is only available from January 1, 2026, through June 2026.

Pay Range
The pay range for this position is USD $20.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
