Per Diem Residential Counselor (Mental Health Services)

Responsibilities

  • Aid in developing, implementing, and documenting individual treatment support plans.
  • Carry out a variety of daily tasks with persons served, including (re)habilitative interventions, behavioral interventions, and monitoring.
  • Provide role modeling and support to persons served.
  • Aid persons served in integrating into their communities.
  • Assess persons served's physical and emotional status and report changes to supervisor.
  • Maintain program site safety and cleanliness.
  • Participate in daily living and cleaning tasks, such as cooking, meal planning, grocery shopping, and maintaining the home environment.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safe work practices, workers’ compensation, universal precautions, and exposure control.
  • Administer and document medication according to MAP requirements, funding source regulations, and company policy.
  • Complete various paperwork and logs, including communication logs, community membership logs, chore schedules, timesheets, and application forms.
  • Perform crisis intervention as needed.
  • Provide current contact information to Relief Pool Coordinator or Human Resources staff.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 direct care shifts per month.
  • One to three months experience in a human services setting, or equivalent education.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driver’s screening background check.
  • The ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways.
  • Ability to assist clients with tasks of daily living.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives.
  • A certification in First Aid and CPR within two weeks of hire.
  • A certification in Medication Administration Program (MAP) within 150 days of hire.

Pay

The pay range for this position is USD $20.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
