Per Diem Residential Counselor

About the role

Vinfen is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based services to individuals with various needs. Founded in 1977, Vinfen aims to promote recovery, resiliency, habilitation, and self-determination for the people they serve.

Responsibilities

• Aid in developing, implementing, and documenting individual treatment support plans.
• Assist with daily tasks such as (re)habilitative interventions, behavioral interventions, monitoring, scheduling appointments, and providing transportation.
• Model appropriate behavior and support individuals in enhancing their independence and quality of life.
• Assess physical and emotional status and report changes to supervisors.
• Maintain program site safety and cleanliness.
• Perform crisis intervention as needed.
• Provide relief pool coordinator or HR staff with current contact information.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• One to three months experience in a human services setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driver’s screening background check.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and assist with tasks of daily living.
• Ability to speak, hear, and communicate effectively with clients, staff, and external representatives.

Qualifications

• First Aid certification within two weeks of hire.
• CPR certification within two weeks of hire.
• MAP certification within 150 days of hire.
• Safety Care certification within 90 days of hire.
