Per Diem Residential Counselor

About the role

Vinfen is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based services to individuals with various needs. Founded in 1977, Vinfen focuses on promoting recovery, resiliency, habilitation, and self-determination for the people they serve.

Responsibilities

• Aid in developing, implementing, and documenting individual treatment support plans.
• Assist with daily tasks including rehabilitative interventions, behavioral interventions, and monitoring.
• Support persons served in becoming fully integrated into their communities.
• Assess persons served's physical and emotional status and report changes to supervisor.
• Maintain program site safety and cleanliness.
• Perform crisis intervention as needed.
• Provide relief pool coordination and HR staff with current contact information.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• One to three months experience in a human services setting (or equivalent education).
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license with at least six months of continuous possession.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and operate a computer.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of advocacy techniques, communication styles, empowerment, and self-advocacy.
• Knowledge of physical and household management skills.
• Experience with crisis intervention techniques.
• Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues.
• Ability to document interventions and work independently.
• Ability to provide role model behaviors.

Pay

The pay range for this position is USD $17.50 - USD $21.27 per hour.
