About the role

Provides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.

Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.

Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders.

Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.

Responsible for writing a weekly summary on clients as assigned.

Maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.

Prepares, presents, and coordinates or supervises a verbal or written change of shift report.

Requirements

  • A valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET) is required; an associate degree in nursing or a social science field is preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of nursing experience is required, preferably treating individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of this experience.)
  • One (1) year of experience with medication administration is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, HiSET).
  • An associate degree in nursing or a social science field is preferred.

Pay

Starting Compensation: 32.00 - 34.00 USD Per Hour

Schedule

Per Diem coverage needed for 12-hour AM and/or NOC shifts (06:00–18:30 / 18:00–06:30). Coverage is as needed, based on facility needs and the candidate’s availability.

NOC shift includes a $2 differential.
