Behavioral Health LVN / LPT

About the role

The Behavioral Health LVN / LPT position at Desert Hill Crisis Residential Treatment in Victorville, CA is a critical part of our mission to improve mental healthcare. This role involves direct client care, medication administration, and supervising nursing activities.

Responsibilities

• Order, prepare, and document medications according to physician orders and confirm pharmacy deliveries.
• Communicate important information to the team and write weekly client summaries as assigned.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation throughout the shift.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Active, valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license.
• Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience with medication administration.
• One (1) year of experience treating individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting (preferred).

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Current CPR certification.
• First Aid certification from an approved provider (such as the American Red Cross).

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of mental health treatment and crisis intervention.
