About the role
This position performs Per Diem Practice Support Assistant duties with a high level of autonomy and competency. Serves as a key member of the Pediatrics team, delivering excellent customer service and supporting strong patient-clinician relationships. In addition to core responsibilities, handles significant higher-level administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
- Manage complex scheduling tasks, including appointment booking, template adjustments, and patient outreach
- Ensure accurate data collection and reporting; handle follow-up activities, referral tracking and insurance authorization processing
- Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving escalated issues and supporting patient satisfaction
- Oversee waiting room operations, verify patient information, and assist with check-in/check-out processes
- Complete and process forms, prior authorizations, prescription renewals, and other documentation
- Collaborate with supervisors on coverage and workflow
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and special projects
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Associate's degree in medical office administration program
- Previous Pediatrics experience
- Proven experience with scheduling software and electronic medical records systems (Epic or equivalent)
- Proven solid problem solving and complex patient management skills
Schedule
This is a per diem role with no set schedule. You will be called in to provide coverage depending on business need during the business hours of Monday - Friday, 7:45am - 6pm.
Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment.
