Per Diem Patient Access Representative

About the role

The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring patients have a positive experience during their visit to Fox Hospital. This position involves direct communication with patients and families, gathering necessary information, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients and families to complete the registration process
• Utilize computer systems to enter and verify patient data in real-time
• Gather and process referrals, pre-certifications, and pre-authorizations
• Verify insurance coverage and create price estimates
• Collect patient co-pays and address financial obligations
• Identify and follow up on outstanding balances from previous visits
• Confirm and schedule appointments for patient services prior to hospital discharge
• Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a compassionate manner
• Generate, review, and analyze patient data reports
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for various units

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1+ years of customer service experience
• Ability to work per diem hours with potential to cover all shifts within a 24-hour day
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in scheduling and authorizations
• Healthcare experience and clinical knowledge
• Ability to work night and weekend hours

Pay and Benefits

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. Additional benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (subject to eligibility).
