Patient Access Representative - Per Diem
Job Duties
- Checks patients in for appointments and verifies demographics.
- Maintains accurate records and monitors patient wait times.
- Reads and interprets insurance responses.
- Ensures proper assignment of primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance per encounter.
- Communicates necessary disclosure and privacy information to patients.
- Collects fees at time of service and communicates financial obligations to patients.
- Completes regulatory forms and processes multi-channel messages related to patient requests.
- Notifies patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibility and collects accordingly.
- Performs cash postings following department guidelines.
- Maintains confidentiality and follows organizational and HIPAA guidelines.
- Independently works work queues to ensure timely resolution of all accounts.
- Accurately maintains medical record and releases patient information.
- Affords referrals and pre-certifications during encounters.
- Utilizes and maintains patient recall and reschedule lists.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year-related work experience
