Per Diem/ On Call CNA

About the role

BrightStar Care is looking for reliable caregivers to join our team in an on‑call position as we grow our clientele in the Rochester area, with opportunity for more hours in the future. This role offers around 10 hours per week and is ideal for someone interested in adding to their current schedule or gradually returning to caregiving. The position is flexible and supports a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation to enhance the lives of clients.
• Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and errands.
• Provide physical assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and ambulation.
• Accompany clients to appointments or social outings, providing transportation as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in the client’s health, behavior, and needs.
• Act as a member of the care‑coordination team, communicating with the RN Case Manager to update the plan of care.

Requirements

• Compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience providing care in a hands‑on environment (home health, assisted living, group home, hospital setting).
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• Negative TB test or cleared chest X‑ray.
• Availability to work two weekend days per month.

Pay

• 1‑hour shifts: $30 per hour.
• 2‑hour shifts: $22.50 per hour.
• Shifts of 3 hours or longer: base rate between $19‑$22 per hour, based on experience.

Schedule

• Approximately 10 hours per week, on‑call.
• Flexible hours; availability for two weekend days per month.
