Per Diem/ On Call CNA

About the role

BrightStar Care is looking for a reliable and compassionate on‑call caregiver to assist clients in their homes as we grow our clientele in the Duluth area. This role offers around 10 hours per week with the opportunity for more hours in the future. This position is ideal for someone interested in adding to their current schedule or gradually returning to caregiving. Responsibilities may include helping with daily routines, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and offering companionship. Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation to enhance the lives of our clients.
• Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and errands.
• Provide physical assistance such as bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and ambulation.
• Accompany clients to appointments or social outings, providing transportation as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in the client’s health, behavior, and needs.
• Act as a member of the Care coordination team to communicate with the RN Case Manager to update the plan of care.

Requirements

• A compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience providing care to clients in a hands‑on environment (Home Health, Assisted Living, Group Home, Hospital Setting).
• Reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with Auto Insurance.
• Negative TB test or Cleared Chest‑X‑ray.
• Availability to work 2 weekend days per month.

Pay

• Premium Short Shift Pay: Shift lengths range from 1 hour to 12 hours.
• 1‑hour shifts: $30 per hour.
• 2‑hour shifts: $22.50 per hour.
• Shifts 3 hours or longer: base rate between $19 and $22 per hour, based on experience.
