Per Diem Nurse - Santa Clara
About the Program
The STEP (Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress) Program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca Family of Agencies located in San Jose, CA. STEP provides intensive, short-term stabilization services to youth, ages 12-17, for an average of 15 days. Our goal is to reintegrate our youth into schools and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment.

Responsibilities
- Coordinates and facilitates referral and intake process
- Collects and analyzes assessment data to formulate resident care problems, individualized outcomes, plans, implements and evaluates nursing interventions
- Facilitates the Recreational Group for the program
- Provides all care required to be given by a RN on shift assigned
- Meets all regulatory and facility documentation standards
- Collaborates with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment and follow-up
- Collaborates with Clinical Manager to ensure health and safety, infection control, resource utilization, and clinical and rehabilitative standards of care
- Participates in nursing department, staff meetings and other facility activities
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing OR Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Active CA Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR – BLS certification
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca's insurance policy
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
Preferred:
- Psychiatric Nursing experience
- Bilingual Spanish skill set
- Excellent critical-thinking, communication, & organization skills
Schedule
- Per Diem; number of shifts will vary
- Monday - Friday; 8am - 4pm
- Travel is required to Santa Clara STEP and at least 2 other STEP locations
- Program locations: Alameda, Contra Costa, Sonoma, Solano
Pay & Benefits
- Starting $61.90 - $64.40 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
- Salary increases each year
- $2,000 sign-on bonus
