Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are looking for a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support medical and safety efforts at a large-scale construction site in Boise, ID. This multi-year project’s exact duration will be determined by client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-aid, medical treatment, and appropriate follow-up for occupationally ill or injured workers, adhering to applicable standards and laws.
  • Deliver first-aid, medical treatment, and follow-up for non-occupational care in compliance with employer on-site clinic standards and laws.
  • Perform regulatory testing, including TB tests, immunizations, blood draws, and drug testing as required.
  • Conduct wellness-based testing and screening, such as biometric (blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose) screenings, flu shots, and coaching for programs like smoking cessation, weight loss, and seasonal initiatives (e.g., allergy prevention).
  • Coordinate employee health screening and surveillance programs, including new hire, fit-for-duty, return-to-work, medical surveillance, exit exams, and substance abuse screenings.
  • Provide travel care and vaccinations for global travel support.
  • Issue return-to-work clearances as appropriate.
  • Perform case management follow-up for injuries, illnesses, and absences.
  • Counsel employees on employment risk reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with ergonomists to resolve ergonomic issues for client company employees.
  • Write prescriptions as needed.
  • Maintain frequent communication with the Medical Director and WorkCare Supervisor regarding clinic issues and client requests.
  • Maintain employee health records and databases, ensuring responsible handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations.
  • Perform computer data entry of employee demographic and health information.
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping and update the OSHA log.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with client management, medical and safety personnel, coworkers, and WorkCare supervisors.
  • Communicate frequently with client management and provide timely, accurate reporting as required by client, WorkCare, and law.
  • Expedite injury information to client management and insurance companies as directed.
  • Perform additional duties and assume responsibilities as identified by the supervisor for efficient clinic operation.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Idaho with national certification.
  • Current DEA license.
  • Current ACLS/BLS certifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ advanced practice experience; prior occupational medicine experience preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for long periods, working at a desk.
  • Some bending and stretching may be required.
  • Working under stress and using a computer/phone.
  • Manual dexterity for computer keyboard use.
  • Occasionally may need to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Mainly indoor, office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Controlled temperature and good air quality.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position is $74 - $76 per hour. Final compensation depends on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
