Under the direction of the MRI Supervisor and the supervision of a radiologist, performs a variety of technical procedures applying a prescribed magnetic field to obtain high-quality images for interpretation by a radiologist.
Responsibilities
- Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic accurate MRI examinations.
- Works timely, efficiently, independently, and completes all tasks.
- Maintains safe functioning, operation, and cleanliness of MRI equipment and coils.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients.
- Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, and correct use of protective barrier equipment for contrast injections.
- Assists in daily operations of the department.
- Demonstrates good organizational skills.
- Collaborates effectively with others in the department and across the Hospital.
Requirements
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARRT registry eligible (must obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Minimum of one year of MRI experience required.
- Prior experience in ultrasound, CT, nuclear medicine, DSA, cross-sectional anatomy, and computer operations is preferred.
- CPR certification (BLS) required.
