Responsibilities
- Process daily payroll tasks to support accurate and timely pay cycles.
- Review, audit, and reconcile employee timecards for compliance and accuracy.
- Prepare and validate payroll files prior to submission.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee pay inquiries, and system errors.
- Process manual checks, corrections, and adjustments as needed.
- Partner with HR and Operations to ensure all employee changes (new hires, terminations, pay changes, leaves) are accurately reflected in the payroll system.
Requirements
- Maintain working knowledge of multi-state payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure payroll processes follow federal, state, and local wage requirements, including overtime, premium pay, meal/rest regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Support internal audits and help ensure payroll documentation meets compliance and retention standards.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of payroll or HR/payroll administration experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and timekeeping systems.
- Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws (multi-state experience preferred).
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google platform and payroll/timekeeping software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in high-volume or multi-state payroll environments.
- Familiarity with HRIS or ERP platforms.
- CPP or FPC certification (or working toward one) is a plus.
