About the role

The Provider Management team is responsible for supporting the Provider Pega platform at our dental insurance client. As a Senior Pega Software Engineer, you will help build and support highly critical business processes and enterprise applications. This role is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining scalable products and applications while following industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contributor on an engineering team that builds and supports innovative solutions for complex business challenges, existing systems, and operational needs.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leadership, product management, designers, test automation teams, and business stakeholders to define requirements and drive successful outcomes.
  • Participate in architectural design, system analysis, and programming activities across applications and systems.
  • Develop high-quality, production-ready software using industry best practices with a focus on scalability, maintainability, security, and performance.
  • Own solutions through the full development lifecycle, from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
  • Produce clear, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development standards.
  • Design and execute quality assurance and testing activities utilizing test-driven development and continuous delivery practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain technical expertise and ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and serve as a technical subject matter expert.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of experience designing and developing highly scalable and secure Pega applications.
  • Experience in healthcare and/or customer service domains is preferred.
  • Experience developing and deploying Pega applications on Azure or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Certified Pega Senior Systems Architect (CSSA).
  • Strong expertise in:

    • Data Management
    • Integration
    • User Experience
    • Background Processing
    • Security
    • Systems Administration
  • Ability to understand business objectives and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues.
  • Experience integrating legacy systems with the Pega platform.
  • Expertise in root cause analysis and application troubleshooting.
  • Experience in integrating external systems with Pega applications.
  • Able to understand existing business processes and design more efficient automated workflows.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Process improvement mindset with strong organizational skills.
  • Able to develop quantitative cost-benefit analyses and measure business improvements.

Qualifications
