Job Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Workforce Development Manager, the peer support specialist serves as peer support for offenders. Assists offenders with the treatment and services enrollment process; serves as a liaison for community-based services.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant Human Services or social services experience
- A minimum of three years since any criminal involvement (e.g., arrest, incarceration, or supervision)
- Able to be credentialed as Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) within 180 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a forensic population is preferred
